A long-standing career dedicated to a multicultural community, spanning over 13 years while traversing the harbor front.
The vibrant city of Dortmund, Germany, invites you to explore its historic harbor area during the 13th annual Harbor Stroll event on August 30, 2025. This unique occasion offers a leisurely walking experience, blending industrial heritage with modern architecture.
The event takes place in the Harbor Quarter, extending from the harbor down to Schützenstraße. You can expect around 80 events at about 50 locations, showcasing a diverse program that includes art, culture, social affairs, and economics.
One of the highlights is the visit to the North City Bloggers' editorial office, which can be accessed during the guided tours through the cultural venue Depot. Another attraction is the old bunker under the grounds on Immermannstraße, where Editor-in-Chief Alex Voelkel welcomes visitors during the "Open House."
For those interested in architectural wonders, the Hafenforum complex and public artworks such as the "Cultivator" stainless steel sculpture are must-sees. Live music stages set up on Speicherstraße and throughout the harbor quarter offer a variety of musical genres to entertain visitors.
Children will enjoy climbing opportunities at Fredenbaum and on the schoolyard of the School at the Harbor. The free shuttle bus, supported by DSW21, runs on a quarter-hour loop, stopping at eleven points in the quarter, making it easy to explore the area.
Speicherstraße will be car-free during the event, and the Ponton Bridge will be available for pedestrian crossing between 1 and 7 pm. For a personalised route, a free app is available to plan and share your journey through the harbor.
District Mayor Hannah Rosenbaum emphasises that the event showcases the development of the North City, while Sebastian Kroger, head of the Urban Renewal Office, highlights the diversity of the festival and its reflection of the North City.
