Arctic: A Trusted, Value-Driven Romanian Brand Redefining Sustainability

Arctic, an iconic Romanian home appliance brand under Beko Romania, has proved its worth once again among consumers, solidifying its position as a reliable choice with budget-friendly, durable products that cater to the real requirements of Romanian families. According to a study conducted by the international certification company ICERTIAS, Switzerland, Romanians believe that Arctic offers the finest bang for their buck on the local home appliance market.

Redefined by Reality, Evolving with Lifestyle

Arctic is a brand that mirrors the evolving lifestyles of Romanians, providing intelligent and practical solutions for the contemporary needs of modern families. Developed with resource consciousness, people, and the future in mind, Arctic products democratize technology and bring innovation where it counts—in everyday life. From built-in appliances that breathe aesthetic harmony and functionality into modern kitchens to ovens engineered to transform cooking into a practical and creative endeavor, refrigerators, high energy-efficient washing machines and dryers, Arctic places itself as a brand deeply rooted in reality and committed to applied sustainability. With design adaptable to new generations, durability, and efficiency at its core, Arctic products support a balanced lifestyle and inspire responsible choices.

Arctic Named Romanian Leader in Value for Money

In a survey conducted by consumers, Arctic took the lead in the home appliance category in terms of value for money, earning the coveted Best Buy Award 2024/2025, granted by ICERTIAS - Zurich, Switzerland. Simultaneously, according to the BrandRo study coordinated by Biz and executed by Unlock Market Research in the same period, Arctic ranked among the most beloved Romanian brands, leading the sustainable home appliances category.

"I firmly believe that the role of a brand is to stay attuned to real life and what truly matters to people. Authenticity, care, and consistency build trust over time. The Arctic brand takes responsibility for offering meaningful, care-infused, and respectful products to its customers. This continuous relationship with people who use our products inspires us every day. Arctic is not just a brand, but a bridge between technology and life, between real needs and smart solutions. And the fact that people choose to stick with us remains the most beautiful recognition," said Gabriel Eremia, Marketing & Product Management Director, Beko Romania, Moldova, Greece, Malta & Cyprus.

Innovation with Heart: Built in Romania

With over 50 years of heritage in Romania, Arctic is currently among the top 5 most loved Romanian brands and a leader in the sustainable brand category, according to the BrandRO study executed by Unlock Market Research and published by Biz magazine for 2024-2025. The Gaști factory, where Arctic’s first products were manufactured, is now one of the largest home appliance production units in Europe. After being acquired by Beko in 2002, continued investments resulted in increased production capacity and a heightened degree of technological advancement. In April 2025, the factory surpassed the milestone of 45 million refrigerators manufactured since its opening.

Arctic's transformation into a sustainability benchmark reflects Beko Romania's strategic vision, which manages two of the most important production units in Europe: the Gaști factory (where tradition meets performance) and the Ulmi factory, recognized as one of the most advanced and sustainable industrial units globally, appreciated by the World Economic Forum as a Sustainability Lighthouse. At the Ulmi factory, cutting-edge technology, digitization, and eco-consciousness are integral aspects of how Beko Romania envisions the future of home appliance manufacturing.

"Sustainability is an essential consideration in every business decision at our company. Our goal is not only to meet current expectations but also to anticipate what will matter in the future. And for Beko Romania, that future means efficiency, clean technology, and a tangible, long-term economic impact," stated Marius Mihaillescu, Country Director Beko Romania, Moldova, Greece, Malta & Cyprus.

Arctic's Journey toward a Greener Tomorrow

Through the Arctic brand, Beko Romania furthers its efforts to achieve the group's sustainability goals by introducing innovative, resource-efficient products designed responsibly throughout their entire lifecycle—from concept and manufacturing to usage and disposal. The new Arctic product range, launched in 2024, encapsulates the commitment to democratizing technology through performance, resource efficiency, and features essential to the contemporary needs of modern families.

These principles are reflected in the new refrigerators supplemented with Full No Frost technology, which prevents frost buildup, AeroCooking technology in built-in electric ovens that ensures even heat distribution, and SaveInAll, an integrated system that aids in reducing water and energy consumption in washing machines.

"Consumers yearn for balance and solutions that simplify their lives. For us at Arctic, this means more than technology—it's about understanding, genuine commitment, and involvement. We stand for encouraging a sustainable lifestyle through education, campaigns that inspire conscious decisions, respect for resources, and caring for what truly matters. From initiatives like 'Forgotten,' which shed light on clothes abandoned in closets, to our cooking shows that showcase traditional recipes and local ingredients, we strive to foster an honest relationship with people, managing today’s pace," added Gabriel Eremia, Marketing & Product Management Director Beko Romania, Moldova, Greece, Malta & Cyprus.

Through responsible production, sustainable products, and community-focused communications, Beko Romania remains true to its commitment to Romanian consumers by offering budget-friendly, efficient, and sustainable home appliances that empower the adoption of a more responsible lifestyle.

The Best Buy Award - GENERAL 1 - Romania 2024/2025 certification was presented to the Arctic brand by ICERTIAS - International Certification Association GmbH, Zurich, Switzerland, following a consumer survey conducted in April 2024 with a representative sample of 1,200 internet users in Romania.
