Annual Event of Chalk-Drawing Block Party (2nd Edition)
Get ready for a vibrant and creative day out as the 2nd Annual Chalk-A-Block event returns to Old Town North on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Organised by the Old Town North Arts & Cultural District organisation, this family-friendly event promises a delightful blend of art, culture, and community spirit.
The heart of Old Town North will transform into an open-air gallery, as chalk artists breathe life into the sidewalks and parking lots, turning them into their canvases. Visitors can marvel at the intricate and colourful creations that unfold before their eyes.
But the artistic spectacle doesn't end there. The event will feature a variety of local artists and artisans showcasing their works. From stained glass to stationery, jewelry to spices, baked goods to unique handmade items, there will be a wide range of items available for purchase. Local artisans and makers organised by Made in ALX will be a part of this creative extravaganza.
For those seeking a bit of adventure, a scavenger hunt awaits! Follow the footprints of the Old Town North Tern to discover hidden gems and stand a chance to win prizes. Completing the scavenger hunt will enter participants into a draw to win exciting prizes.
The Old Town North Arts & Cultural District will be bustling with activity from 11am to 3pm. The event remains free to attend, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for all.
To add to the festivities, live music performances by The Okays, The Frontier, Alejandro Villareal, Caroline Whitaker, and other artists will keep the atmosphere lively and upbeat.
A host of local businesses have partnered with Chalk-A-Block to support this community event. Hotel AKA, west elm, AFBA/5Star, Salon deZEN, St. Elmo's Old Town North, Oak Steakhouse, MRP Realty, Bond Vet, Sheraton Suites, Royal Restaurant, Alexandria House, T.J. Stone's, Made in ALX, and Pat Miller are all proud partners of this year's event.
Chalk-A-Block also offers designated areas for attendees of all ages to create their own chalk art. So, bring your creativity and let your imagination run wild!
