Annual World Children's Day Celebrations Held Across Three Districts, Family Participation Highlighted

World Children's Day is set to be a joyous celebration across several locations in Bergisch Gladbach and Gronau on September 20, 2025. The festivities will run from 2 PM to 5 PM, offering a fun-filled afternoon for children and families alike.

In Bergisch Gladbach, the events will take place at Heidkamp, Hermann-Löns Quarter, and Wohnpark Bensberg. At Heidkamp, visitors can enjoy live music, coffee and cake, play and creativity offerings, and learn about the Intercultural Meeting Point's services. The Kreativitätsschule Bergisch Gladbach e.V., an organisation known for promoting creativity and integration, will be hosting the event at Paulusstraße 5a.

Meanwhile, in Wohnpark Bensberg, the World Children's Day festival will be a collaborative effort between the LOKI, an initiative promoting local life, openness, creativity, and integration, and KiWo, operated by GL-Service gGmbH since 2012. The festival will feature live performances, balloon modeling, face painting, interactive stations, and refreshments.

The LOKI in Wohnpark Bensberg, established in 2024, supports residents through self-organized offers in a peer-to-peer approach. This year, the World Children's Day motto is "Children's Rights - Building Blocks for Democracy."

In Gronau, the Hermann-Löns Forum community center, operated by the KJA LRO, the Catholic Youth Agency Leverkusen, Rhein-Berg, Oberberg, will host the event. The focus in Gronau is on mobility, with a bike course for children.

On this special day, children under 15 can use buses and trains for free in the entire NRW public transport network. This free travel privilege also applies to the entire VRS network on September 20 and 21, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday following World Children's Day).

The family festivals are organised and coordinated by local associations and free carriers from Bergisch Gladbach. Regardless of the weather, these events are barrier-free, ensuring everyone can participate in the celebrations.

For those interested, the World Children's Day flyer for 2025 can be downloaded from a specific source. Let's come together to celebrate and uphold the rights of children, fostering a brighter future for all.
