The Armenian Street Festival is set to return to Bucharest's "Dimitrie Brândză" Botanical Garden from August 1 to 3, 2025. This year's edition promises a vibrant celebration of the living heritage of the Armenian community in Romania and the diaspora, featuring an eclectic lineup of international artists.

Headlining the event is the legendary Armenian rock band, The Bambir. Founded by Jag Barseghyan in the 1970s, the band has since become a national icon, blending progressive rock, Armenian ethno, jazz, and poetry in a unique and captivating sound. Joining The Bambir on the stage will be Gata Band, another Armenian group renowned for their ethnic jazz reinterpretations, using traditional Armenian instruments such as duduk, kanon, dap, and dhol.

The festival will also showcase a mix of folk, punk, and traditional music from Moldova and Romania. Notable acts include the famous Moldovan punk folk band, Zdob și Zdub, the Osoianu Sisters, Romania's Ciocârlia Fanfare, Robin and the Backstabbers, and Corina Sîrghi & Taraf.

The festival will not only offer concerts but also serve as an open space where Armenian traditions meet contemporary city energies. Alongside the music, visitors can expect exhibitions, workshops, gastronomy, and intergenerational dialogues. This year's edition aims to strengthen the cultural axis between Bucharest, Chisinau, and Yerevan.

The Armenian Street Festival maintains a polyphonic structure, blending concerts with craftsmanship, memory with improvisation, and ritual with artistic experiment. The event is a testament to the rich cultural heritage shared by the participating countries and a celebration of the vibrant artistic scene in the post-Soviet space.

Gata Band, known for their appearances in UNESCO-curated projects, has performed in various countries, including France, Germany, Lebanon, and Georgia. The Bambir, led by Narek Barseghyan and his bandmates, continues to captivate audiences with their unique sound.

The public can look forward to a diverse and engaging programme that unites past and present, with voices from legendary brass bands, urban poetry musicians, and more. The Armenian Street Festival is more than just a music event; it's a cultural celebration that brings together people from different backgrounds, fostering unity and appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
