Bergisch Gladbach to Remove Dangerous Robinia Tree on October 7, 2025
Bergisch Gladbach is set to remove a Robinia tree on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, due to severe damage caused by fungal infestation. The tree, located at the corner of Dellbrücker Straße and Eschenbroichstraße, is no longer safe to remain standing.
The tree's condition has deteriorated over time, with extensive deadwood and repeated maintenance efforts failing to halt its decline. Fungi have infested the tree, leading to the death and peeling off of large sections of its bark. This has compromised the tree's stability, posing a safety risk.
The city has decided to fell the tree to prevent any potential hazards. The name of the planting specialist previously responsible for the tree's care remains unknown to the public.
On Tuesday, the city will take down the damaged Robinia tree to ensure the safety of residents and passersby. The tree's removal will allow for the planting of a new, healthy tree in its place.
