Brandenburg an der Havel Introduces Special Leaf Disposal Containers This Autumn
Brandenburg an der Havel is introducing special containers for leaf disposal this autumn, from 27 October to 7 December 2025. Residents are advised to use these containers, along with other disposal options, to manage fallen leaves effectively.
The city will place these containers in various districts and suburbs for two-week periods. They aim to assist street cleaners, particularly in areas with high leaf volumes from street trees. Residents can find container locations on the city's homepage. Note that containers may not be available in the morning on the first day of each period but will be provided throughout the day.
To facilitate composting, residents should avoid placing foreign matter like plastic bags or packaging in the containers. Instead, they can opt for self-composting, biotonne, recycling centers, or purchase leaf bags. The local public order office (Ordnungsamt) at Nicolaiplatz 30 is responsible for organizing these containers. Residents can contact them via the Bürgerservice phone number 58 13 50. It's recommended to call only when the container is almost full to prevent unnecessary emptying.
