Central New York is gearing up for a dazzling Fourth of July with a series of fireworks displays across the region. Here's a roundup of the events happening in and around Central New York this summer.

The Syracuse Orchestra will kick off the celebrations early, performing at Emerson Park in Auburn, Cayuga County, on July 3 at 8 p.m., followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

On July 4, the picturesque town of Cazenovia, Madison County, will host its annual fireworks event at Lakeland Park. The day will be filled with music, provided by the Maria DeSantis Orchestra from 7 to 9 p.m., before the fireworks light up the sky at 9 p.m.

Brewerton, Onondaga County, will also join in the festivities, with fireworks scheduled on the river at dusk on July 3.

In the heart of the region, Syracuse will host a large fireworks show at either Onondaga Lake Park or Clinton Square. This event often includes live music and other festivities leading up to the fireworks. For exact times and locations, local news archives or municipal websites from June-July 2022 would have the schedules and best viewing spots.

Utica, another city in the region, typically features fireworks during the Boilermaker Road Race weekend, such as at Owen D. Young Park or other community spots.

For those looking for a later celebration, the 48th Annual Ronald A. Russell Jr. Fireworks Celebration will take place in East Syracuse on July 12 at 9:30 p.m. at the East Syracuse Elementary School field. Music by Faded Vinyl will precede the fireworks from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m.

The Independence Day Spectacular in Cortland County will be held at Dwyer Memorial Park on July 5, with festivities starting at 2 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

The Village of Manlius's 4th of July Celebration will take place on July 4, with food trucks, entertainment, a parade at 5 p.m., and fireworks at dusk (1 Arkie Albanese Drive).

For sports fans, an Independence Day Celebration and fireworks display will follow the Syracuse Mets vs. Worcester Red Sox game at NBT Bank Stadium on July 4. The game starts at 6:35 p.m.

Finally, fireworks will also be held after the Syracuse Mets games on July 5, 11-12, 25-26, Aug. 8-9, 22-23, and Sept. 12-13.
