City Cycling 2025: Landshut County Secures Victory

In the heart of Europe, the district of Landshut in Germany recently witnessed an exciting culmination of the "Stadtradeln" campaign, a movement promoting sustainable mobility and climate protection. Over 1,000 active cyclists from 81 teams across 3,000 communities in Germany, parts of France, Denmark, and the USA took part in the campaign, which ran from June 22 to July 12, 2025.

The campaign's success was not only evident in the number of participants but also in the distance covered. A staggering 230,000 kilometers were traveled by bicycle during the campaign, a testament to the district's commitment to cycling.

One of the standout performers was the State Realschule Ergolding, which secured the first place in the team ranking. Their impressive number of participants and kilometers traveled underscored the importance of cycling among children and young people. The Realschule Wehr team, in particular, shone brightly, with a remarkable total of 17,141.8 kilometers covered.

The "Stadtradeln" campaign was not the only initiative aimed at improving cycling infrastructure in the district. The RADar! platform, a tool for citizens to communicate directly with their municipality about cycling issues, is another significant step in this direction. Citizens can submit tips about cycling infrastructure defects such as potholes, poor signage, or lack of parking facilities via the RADar! reporting platform at www.radar-online.net.

The use of RADar! is free and is another important building block in the promotion of cycling in the district. It's important to note that the RADar! platform is not related to the participation of teams or individuals in the Stadtradeln campaign or the awards ceremony.

An overview of the results for the district of Landshut can be found on the official Stadtradeln website at stadtradeln.de/landkreis-landshut. The winners in various categories of the campaign will be honoured at a festive awards ceremony in October.

The growing international significance of sustainable mobility and climate protection is evident in the success of the Stadtradeln campaign and the introduction of initiatives like RADar!. As we move forward, it's clear that the district of Landshut is committed to promoting cycling and fostering a greener, more sustainable future.
