City Offers Free Wood Chip Collection for Garden Owners Oct 6-24
The city's waste management department has announced a free wood chip collection service for garden owners from October 6th to October 24th. Residents can dispose of woody material, but there are specific guidelines to follow for a smooth process.
Garden owners can find their collection date in the waste calendar, environmental handbook, or the city's waste app. Material should be made available on the owner's property, clearly visible from the street, and not on sidewalks. If the material cannot fit on the property, it should be made available at the earliest on the eve of the collection date. The service collects up to five cubic meters of woody material per residential unit.
To facilitate collection, branches and twigs should be stacked in one direction and in a pile. Material under one cubic meter should be disposed of via green waste containers. The coordination of the collection point is handled by the local municipal waste management or environmental department. Access to the collection point must be kept clear, and certain streets may require prior inspection. Collection points in specific locations, such as dead-end roads or private properties, must be reported in advance to the department of waste management. Small hedge trimmings or garden waste that cannot be picked up with the grabber will not be taken.
The city's wood chip collection service runs from October 6th to October 24th, offering a convenient way for garden owners to dispose of woody material. By following the guidelines, residents can help ensure the service runs smoothly and efficiently.
