Construction and Canine Recreation Space: Proposed Plans for Green Island Park's Enhancement

In a recent City Council's Committee on Economic Development meeting held on September 11, Dar'ia Tolmacheva, the director of the "Around the World" park, reported on the progress of several key projects in Omsk.

One of the main topics of discussion was the school construction in the Silver Bank Microdistrict. Andrey Zagorsky, the person responsible for leading the school construction, reported that the concession agreement obligations are being fulfilled ahead of schedule. The current status of the construction is that the building is 60% complete, with the foundation and structural work finished and interior work underway. However, no specific information was provided about the status of the school construction in the Silver Bank Microdistrict during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the focus at the "Around the World" park is shifting towards reconstruction. Dar'ia Tolmacheva mentioned the need for reconstruction of sports facilities and the potential expansion of these facilities. She also acknowledged the need for an update to the dog walking area. The park's plans include updates to the dog walking area as part of the overall park's improvements.

The current focus is on the reconstruction of the embankment, as stated by Dar'ia Tolmacheva. The region is preparing to host guests for the Federal Sabantuy, and the embankment's improvement is a top priority for spring-summer 2026.

The development of "Green Island" and the "Around the World" park was also discussed during the meeting. Dar'ia Tolmacheva stated that the park's engaged attitude is addressing acute problems and the phased innovations and reconstruction of the territory.

The need for updates to sports facilities and dog walking area were discussed separately from the school construction in the Silver Bank microdistrict. The focus on the reconstruction of sports facilities and potential expansion does not necessarily imply a halt in the school construction in the microdistrict.

As the city of Omsk continues to grow and develop, the projects discussed in the meeting are crucial steps towards improving the quality of life for its residents. The progress made on the school construction in the Silver Bank Microdistrict, as well as the focus on reconstruction at the "Around the World" park, are exciting developments for the city.
