County Fair Showcasing Cattle Exhibitions on Thursday
The Johnson County Fair is set to return for its 2025 edition, taking place from Saturday, July 26 to Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner, Kansas. This year's fair promises a week filled with entertainment, exhibits, and competitions for all ages.
The fair will kick off with the Demolition Derby on Saturday, July 26 at 7:00 pm in the Main Event Arena. The following day, on Sunday, July 27, the ARBA Rabbit Show will commence at 8:00 am, while the Dog Show, including obedience events, will start at 4:30 pm in the Livestock Pavilion.
On Monday, July 28, the dog show will continue with Rally O and Agility events in the afternoon. The day will also feature timed horse event judging in the evening, along with 4-H Foods Judging from 2:00 to 7:00 pm.
Throughout the week, various animal shows will take place, such as the Beef Show on Thursday, July 30 in the Show Ring, and the Poultry Show in the Block Barn also on Thursday. The Pie Contest is scheduled for Friday, July 31.
The weekend of August 1-2 will see the Fairgrounds Fest, featuring live music performances by Casey Donahew, Colby Swift, Steve Miller Experience, and others.
In addition to these events, the fair will also host the Rodeo Slack in the Main Arena on Thursday, July 30, and rodeo events will take place on both Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August 1. Friday, July 31 has been designated as Youth Rodeo Day at the Main Arena.
Other highlights include the Saddle Tramps Band performance on Thursday, July 30, and a movie sponsored by the Junior Leaders concluding the day's events on Thursday, July 30. To top it all off, a parade will take place on Saturday morning during the fair.
