Detmold Launches 'GroundAir' Competition to Greenify City and Fight Climate Change

Detmold has joined the 'GroundAir' competition, aiming to make the city more livable and sustainable. Citizens are encouraged to participate by transforming unsealed areas into green spaces and uploading before-and-after photos at bodenluft.net.

The competition, organized by Provinzial, offers cash prizes and vouchers for garden centers. Mayor Frank Hilker emphasizes the goal of improving the city's climate, supporting flood protection, and enhancing the quality of life. In special cases, direct material pick-up from the city is possible after consultation. Worn-out stones can be disposed of via recycling centers Hellsiek and Maibolte.
