In a recent online meeting, Altai Rakhimbetov, the Akim of Bostandyk District, addressed the pressing issue of school place shortages in the district. The rapid population growth and increased residential development in the area have led to a higher number of children needing education than existing schools can accommodate.

To tackle this issue, several measures have been planned. Firstly, five extensions will be constructed to schools, providing an additional 3,000 student places. Secondly, the district Akim aims to repair 100 courtyard territories and develop PSS on 70 children's playgrounds this year.

Apart from school place shortages, other concerns were raised by residents. Wanda Kazantseva expressed her concern about the lack of street lighting in the district, which the Akim assured would be addressed this year. Altai Rakhimbetov also plans to start the construction of water supply and wastewater networks simultaneously to improve the district's infrastructure.

The Akim also highlighted the repair and construction of roads on 16 streets as a plan for this year. In addition, two outpatient clinics will be opened, and the district aims to complete full gasification this year.

Questions from residents were collected from three points, with most queries focusing on social issues, housing and utilities, and landscaping. One of the collection points was located in the district branch of the Nur Otan party.

During the live broadcast, Altai Rakhimbetov answered 150 questions, addressing concerns such as the quality of drinking water, the lack of lighting, and the fact that trees along the roads are not pruned. A resident, Askar Bijanov, mentioned that the district still uses technical water from the Big Almaty Lake, and wastewater treatment facilities were promised to be built in 2020 but have not been resolved yet due to the pandemic.

The meeting took place with social distancing and mask-wearing measures to ensure the safety of all participants. The Akim of Bostandyk District assured that all streets in the district will be lit this year, and ten dilapidated houses will be demolished and new residential complexes will be built in their place.

The district's long-term urban planning aims to coordinate residential development with educational infrastructure planning to prevent similar shortages in the future. These steps aim to ensure that the demand for student places aligns better with the educational infrastructure in Bostandyk district going forward.

To align with the district's growing population, Altai Rakhimbetov, the Akim of Bostandyk District, plans not only to extend schools but also to transform 100 courtyard territories and develop PSS on 70 children's playgrounds, thereby improving the home-and-garden lifestyle of residents. Furthermore, the Akim's long-term urban planning endeavors to coordinate residential development with educational infrastructure to prevent future lifestyle disruptions like school place shortages.
