Dresden's October Festival of Pichmännel is set to commence
The 9th edition of the Pichmannel Oktoberfest, a much-anticipated annual event in Dresden, took place from September 21 to October 7. This year's celebration was expected to be more popular than ever, with record-breaking ticket sales according to Frank Haase, Marketing Director at the Feldschloßen Brewery.
Almost all days of the event were sold out, but a few remaining tickets are still available for purchase on the homepage www.pichmannel-oktoberfest.de.
The festival grounds in 2023 could accommodate up to 50,000 visitors, who were treated to genuine Wiesen fun, Dirndls, Lederhosen, and one-liter mugs.
The event kicked off on Thursday with a lineup of traditional Bavarian bands, including Oktoberfest Blaskapelle, The Beer Feuerwehr, Die Schwäbischen Dirndln, Trenkwalder, Grabenland Buam, Stoapfälzer Spitzbuam, Mountain Crew, and Die Zipfelbuben.
In addition to the music, fans could choose from the "Feldschloßen" lettering, the classic logo of the beer brand, or the Pichmannel logo for their temporary tattoo at the event. A wet washcloth and the Feldi one-time tattoo were available for fans to adorn themselves with beer-themed designs.
Unlike previous years, DJs would not be performing at the Pichmannel Oktoberfest in 2023. Instead, the event featured only Oktoberfest bands. However, both DJs and Oktoberfest bands were present to ensure a lively and festive atmosphere.
