Dubai Introduces Mobile Application for Immediate Reporting of Littering Offenders
Dubai Municipality has launched a new app called 'Eltizam' to report violations of public cleanliness rules. The app is part of Dubai Law No. (19) of 2024, which aims to ensure compliance, legal clarity, and enhanced community participation in public cleanliness enforcement.
The app allows authorized officials and select verified users to instantly report and document public cleanliness violations by uploading photos and tagging the location. The app then issues fines directly linked to the offender's vehicle number plate, Emirates ID, or passport, ensuring swift enforcement of the rules.
The main targeted violations by the app include spitting in public, throwing chewing gum on the ground, general littering, dumping waste in the ocean or on beaches, washing cars in unauthorized places, unauthorized barbecuing, slapping advertisements on public surfaces, and not cleaning up after pets.
Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, stated that the launch of 'Eltizam' is a key step in enhancing the city's cleanliness, sustainability, and quality of life. He emphasized that 'Eltizam' fosters a culture of responsibility and social engagement, reflecting Dubai's vision of a pioneering city where technology and regulation work together to protect its urban appeal.
The app also reinforces Dubai's position as the most beautiful and cleanest city in the world, as well as its goal to maintain its status as the world's cleanest city.
