In the world of bathroom design, Italian brands continue to push the boundaries with their unique and elegant washbasin creations. Here are some of the latest offerings that are sure to catch your eye.

Starting with 'Pleated', a circular countertop basin defined by a diagonal, wraparound pleat detail, this design is available in 28 vibrant colours. Perfect for adding a touch of personality to any bathroom, 'Pleated' is designed for surface mounting with a wall-mounted tap and is cast in concrete.

'Elitique', a joint project between Falper and Florim, debuts with two collections: 'Spheris' by Matteo Nunziati and 'Minimum' by Victor Vasiev. The design by Christophe Pillet for Kreoo is a new chapter in Kreoo's experimentation with three-dimensional marble decoration. Pillet has also designed matching 'Dawn' vases for the brand.

The 'Elitique' collection offers a range of configurations and finishes to suit preferences, while the 'Minimum' line pairs a Titanium Flame Dark porcelain stoneware basin from Vasiev's minimalist line with a cabinet finished to order by Falper.

Marco Zito, an Italian designer, has developed a cast-glass washbasin named 'Massicci' for Italian brand Agape. This design interacts with light and water to create shifting reflections that animate the surrounding space. 'Massicci' is made by pouring molten glass into a mold to form a solid, subtly faceted volume.

'Neolitico' by Paolo Ulian for Antonio Lupi is a freestanding marble basin hand-carved to evoke the slow erosion of stone by water. This design features a textured, irregular surface that contrasts with the smooth precision of the surrounding cylinder.

Andrea Parisio and Giuseppe Pezzano's 'Kanto' for Ceramica Cielo offers a pentagonal-shaped washbasin designed for compact spaces, available in a 50cm size. This design also offers the option to add matching pentagonal shelves or a suspended cabinet in wood or Terre di Cielo finishes.

The 'Ohtake' washbasin collection, designed by the late Brazilian architect Ruy Ohtake and expanded by his son, architect and designer Rodrigo Ohtake, won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2019. This collection features a sculptural, freestanding washbasin hand-chiselled to create a contemporary, soft grid pattern with shell-like elements.

Finally, 'Lavabo Norma' by Elena Salmistraro for Flaminia features a glossy plastic column and a generously proportioned basin with an integrated surface for toiletries. This design is made in two pieces, allowing for playful contrasts or a seamless monochrome look, and is available in single- or two-tone finishes.

These innovative washbasin designs showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of Italian designers and brands, offering homeowners a wealth of options to elevate their bathroom spaces.
