Exhibition debuts at Saarwellingen City Hall, showcased from the perspectives of victorious parties: SaarMitte8

The picturesque region of SaarMitte8 is currently showcasing a tour through its eight member communes, as the traveling exhibition "Who are you, SaarMitte8?" is on display in Saarwellingen for the next four weeks. This exhibition, inaugurated on May 15 in the town hall foyer of Saarwellingen, invites visitors to rediscover the region through the lens of winning photographers.

The exhibition is organised by the municipality, who encourage everyone interested to visit and experience the beauty, diversity, and uniqueness of the LEADER region SaarMitte8. The photos on display capture the region's charm, from its urban landscapes to the rural idyll, nature, architecture, art, and personal favourite spots.

The photo competition, titled "LebensART SaarMitte8 – Life and Art in the Region," is a recurring event in the region. This year, submissions for the competition can be made until August 31, 2025. The goal of the competition is to highlight perspectives on life and the cultural expression of the region.

Mayor Dr. Horst Brünnet welcomed the exhibition at the vernissage, emphasising its role in promoting the region's cultural expression and quality of life. The competitions and exhibitions aim to spark creative impulses and strengthen awareness of the diversity and quality of life in the region.

The Landesarbeitsgruppe SaarMitte8 e.V. (State Working Group SaarMitte8) is the organisational body behind the photo competition and the travel exhibition. This collaboration of eight municipalities in the Saarland region promotes rural development and cultural identity.

Numerous guests were present at the vernissage, eager to witness the 13 winning photos from a competition where 47 participants submitted a total of 127 images. The 110 photos shortlisted from the competition were ultimately narrowed down to these 13 winning images.

Visitors to the exhibition can also take home a free photo calendar featuring the awarded shots. For those wanting to learn more about the competition and the region SaarMitte8, the website www.saarmittehoch8.de provides additional information.

The photo competition is just one of the ways the region SaarMitte8 promotes its cultural expression and quality of life. By showcasing the region's beauty and diversity, these events serve as a testament to the region's unique charm and its commitment to preserving and celebrating its cultural identity.
