On October 3rd, the heart of Bremen's Überseestadt will come alive as it hosts the 17th annual autumn market. This vibrant community event, held since 2007 on Germany's Unity Day, promises a lively market atmosphere with around 90 vendors.

Visitors can expect a variety of stalls offering handmade crafts, regional foods, and artistic works inspired by Bremen’s culture. The market is known for its cozy atmosphere and a good mix of traditional and innovative offerings that reflect the city's maritime and industrial heritage.

Highlights specifically include Alpaca wool products, which often feature in warm clothing and accessories known for their softness and quality. "Alpakas vom Halsetal" is one of the vendors offering such items. Another unique treat at the market is Swedish licorice, a favourite among Nordic specialty food fans, provided by Doreca by Rita Tydecks.

For those with a soft spot for Bremen, Bremen-themed art is another highlight. This includes paintings, prints, and crafts inspired by Bremen’s famous landmarks and cultural symbols like the Bremen Town Musicians. Bremen-based artist Isa Fischer offers original drawings, art prints, games, notebooks, books, postcards, and calendars featuring Bremen cityscapes at the autumn market. Duplio Verlag from Findorff also offers products with Bremen motifs, in collaboration with Bremen-based artist Isa Fischer.

The market offers a great opportunity to explore authentic local craftsmanship and international specialties in a scenic harbor district setting known as Überseestadt, combining urban charm with a maritime vibe.

In addition to shopping, visitors can recharge at the diverse food and drink stalls. The market offers a wide variety of products, including fresh produce, vegetables (including pumpkins), plants, baked goods, cheese, specialty sausages and ham, gourmet items like vinegars, oils, and jams. Creative garden decorations, ceramic items, basketware, wind chimes, and jewelry made from unique materials are also available.

Convenience is another plus, with free parking available on the Großmarkt grounds for market visitors. The market can be reached by tram lines 3 and 5 at the "Waller Ring" stop, and by bus lines 26 and 28 at the "Überseetor" stop.
