Get Ready for a Green Weekend at Burg Klempenow!
Family-friendly outdoor event concludes, followed by a jazz performance
Summer is almost here, and that means it's time for the annual Open Gardens action in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern! And let me tell you, Burg Klempenow, a cultural gem curated by the association Kultur-Transit-96, is joining in on the fun. This badass medieval castle has been adding a dash of culture to the region for years, and their upcoming event, "The Living Castle Garden", is no exception! The action begins on Sunday, June 8, at 2 pm, and trust me, it's gonna be lit!
Kids and families are invited to take part in a cool, hands-on learning experience called "From Seed to Soup". The aim is to team up and get stuck into growing some badass vegetables. You'll plant seeds together and tend to the bed every month, so the kiddos can see the magic of life in action as fruits sprout from those little plants. So far, bean poles and tomatoes have been planted in the kindergarten area during the first event, and once the harvest is in, it's on to cooking up a storm in Burg Klempenow!
While the Living Castle Garden is a long-term bash, the Open Gardens at Burg Klempenow will be poppin' for two days during the weekend of June 14/15, from 11 am to 6 pm. Take a stroll through one of the 120 open gardens across the state, exchange knowledge, and ogle at some plants and insects in the castle garden. But that's not all! Burg Klempenow has put together a kickass cultural program too, including workshops, demonstrations, music performances, and more.
Invitation, Baby!
The action kicks off on Saturday at 11 am with "Entangled and Sewn" and the Building Play Day. Children can team up with their parents to create colorful wool balls, seat cushions, or small figures using natural materials. We're preparing the goods, so all you need to do is show up with your DIY spirit, and we'll help you get crafty!
At 6 pm, the weekend heats up with some fresh jams from the New Jazz concert. Musicians will jam it out from Hamburg and Berlin, including the Jörgensmann/Neuser Duospriracy, the Silke Eberhard Trio, and the Lücker Kersting Gödecke Trio.
On Sunday, the action wraps with a heartwarming coffee gathering, and the Building Play Day continues for the little ones. So, gather your friends, bring some treats, and hang with us. We'll provide the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate!
Sound like a good time? Swing by Burg Klempenow during the Open Gardens weekend and get ready for a fun-filled day of learning, creating, and jamming!
