Festival in Paežeriai Transforms with Unprecedented Significance

The picturesque town of Paežeriai in Lithuania played host to a breathtaking spectacle of floral artistry in July 2025, as the International Rose Festival unfolded at the historic Paežeriai Manor.

This year's festival, the second international floral design event in Lithuania for organiser Odeta Riklaitienė, brought together an international team of floral artists, including Ania Norwood from the USA, Beata Kaas from Canada, Iwona Kwiatek from Poland, Regine Motmans from Belgium, and the festival's initiator herself.

The festival's highlight was a fashion show featuring unique wearable floral designs created by these master artists. The creations, an exceptionally rare treat in Lithuania, showcased the beauty of roses and innovative floral design.

One of the standout pieces was Ania Norwood's "Celestial World", a celestial-themed design that dazzled the audience with its intricate detailing. Iwona Kwiatek's "The String of Beauty" was another crowd favourite, with its stunning display of roses and other blooms arranged in a cascading, string-like formation.

Regine Motmans, meanwhile, created a floral masterpiece with roses only, named "Trijų Gyvybių" (pronounced: tree-yoo gee-vee-bee-oo), which symbolised the sacred trinity of life, balance of body, mind, and soul, and continuity, legacy, and the unseen threads that connect past, present, and future.

Kristina Rimiene's project, "Flow of Life", was another captivating display, with its flowing, organic forms and vibrant colour palette. Beata Kaas's "LUNULA: A Marker of Change and Renewal" was another thought-provoking piece, with its use of white roses and other blooms to symbolise purity and renewal.

The festival was a hit with locals and visitors alike, with people coming from all over Lithuania to see the floral installations, which reached lengths of 3, 4, and 5 meters. The success of the Rose festival reaffirmed Odeta Riklaitienė's belief that the people of Lithuania love flowers deeply.

The flowers for the festival were sent from the Netherlands by 'Astra Fund Holland BV' and 'The Floral Industry Hub', and delivered with the help of the Lithuanian company Mirata. The photos of the festival were captured by Milda Dubauskienė and Dainius Čeplomas.

In a touching moment, the author's daughter, Marija, modeled for the floral wearable designs demonstration on the stage at the floral fashion show. Marija has modeled abroad in several places, including South Korea and Japan.

As the festival came to a close, it left a lasting impression on all who attended, showcasing the beauty of floral artistry and creativity in a way that was both inspiring and unforgettable.
