Gazpromneft-Vostok Transforms 'Sprout' Center with Berry Garden
Gazpromneft-Vostok employees and volunteers have transformed the 'Sprout' children's assistance center in Tomsk with a new berry garden and flower bed, culminating in a celebratory event for the center's students. The project, part of Gazpromneft's 'Native Cities' program, saw over 35 colleagues and their family members contribute over two months. Yulia Ankudinova, the project's author and chief accountant at Gazpromneft-Vostok, led the initiative. Volunteers prepared the soil, installed a wooden fence, arranged paths, and planted bushes of currants, gooseberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Landscape designer Maria Kurach donated hydrangeas, while 'Bakchar' company provided berry bush seedlings. Alexei Kulikov supplied equipment for the project. The garden will allow children to study berry cultures in practice and make jam, pie, and compote in the future, as stated by Irina Zvirbul, the organizer of the 'Sprout' center. The project ended with a celebration featuring competitions, games, and a soap bubble show. A comfortable bench and a flower bed with a fairy-tale hut were added next to the garden, providing a pleasant space for the children to enjoy.
