Large-scale classical music performance held at the airship hangar in NRW - Gig on grand stage in NRW: concert event unfolding

The North Rhine-Westphalian state government is set to host a traditional summer concert in the airship hangar in Essen/Mülheim, offering a unique and extraordinary experience for all citizens. The concert, titled the NRW Summer Concert: Classical and Film Music in Airship Hangar, will be broadcast live on WDR television.

Scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM, the concert is free for all, with no ticket or registration required. The New Philharmonic Westphalia will perform a captivating mix of classical music pieces and well-known film music, aiming to attract both classical music lovers and cinema fans. The concert will take place next to one of the giant airships, providing a one-of-a-kind acoustic and visual experience.

The airship hangar at the airport in Mülheim-Essen has a long-standing tradition, with the airship "Theo" starting from the airport for many years and now permanently located in a new hangar there. The current airship is approximately 75 meters long and flies at a leisurely pace of about 60 kilometers per hour, reaching an altitude of about 300 meters.

Visitors are welcome to bring picnic blankets or cushions to make themselves comfortable, and they can even bring their own picnic baskets with food. However, parking for the concert is not available at the airship hangar. Instead, visitors should park at parking lot P10 in Essen and use the free shuttle buses, which will be provided to combat traffic chaos. Shuttle buses will also be available to transport visitors to and from the concert venue.

Prime Minister of NRW, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), has expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating that the airship hangar offers a unique and extraordinary setting for the concert. This promises to be an unforgettable evening of music and culture, not to be missed.

For the most up-to-date information on the program and schedule for the NRW Summer Concert, we recommend checking the official website or social media channels of the event organisers, the NRW cultural office, or the venue hosting the concert. Additionally, ticket platforms or local event listings in NRW might have the precise timetable and repertoire available closer to the concert date.

The North Rhine-Westphalian state government's community policy, in conjunction with this unique concert event, could potentially extend to including information about outdoor-living opportunities, such as suggesting picnic options for attendees, like bringing home-and-garden essentials like picnic blankets or cushions. Vocational training programs might also find the concert venue, a symbol of engineering and technological advancement, an inspiring location for educational tours or workshops related to vocational training in engineering, aviation, or even event management.
