Gunmen Celebrate Post-Shooting with Excessive Music and Revelry in Lierenfeld, Düsseldorf
Lierenfeld Marksmen's Festival: A Celebration of Tradition and Camaraderie
The Lierenfeld Marksmen, a traditional marksmen’s club based in Düsseldorf, Germany, recently held their annual Schützenfest, a marksmen’s festival filled with shooting competitions, parades, music, and communal celebrations.
The festival kicked off on Friday with a performance by the Cologne band. The following day, the program began in the afternoon, featuring the festival parade for the reigning majesties, which included Lea Mohr, the new junior marksman queen, and Christoph Groß, the junior marksman king.
The Saturday evening concluded with a series of exciting events. DJ Ralle took over the stage for the Ball of the Kings, followed by May Weyers' show performance. The student king for the evening was Felix Hendel from Society Maria Magdalena, accompanied by Sven Ratzel and Angelina Seidler as part of the student king pair in the festival parade.
The youth ball was held on Sunday evening, and the festival chief Wolfgang Liembd and his wife Appolonia watched the parade from a carriage. The marksmen's festival ended on Monday with the crowning of the new regiment king, Heiko Jurgasch, and the grand tattoo.
Throughout the festival, the Lierenfeld Marksmen hosted the robbers in their festival tent, adding an extra layer of traditional fun to the celebrations. For those interested in supporting the website, more information can be found here.
