Half-century of festive games in Gütersloh, led by the Miele Foundation - a resounding success story
This summer, the city of Gütersloh hosted an exciting series of events known as the Holiday Games, offering a diverse range of activities for children and young people. Thanks to the generous support of the Miele Foundation, these events were provided free of charge, ensuring that everyone could participate.
The programme included something for every taste and inclination. For instance, the course 'The Forest and Its Culture' provided a playful understanding of nature's diversity, allowing children aged 10 and up to explore the Rhedaer Forest and create land art projects using natural materials.
Meanwhile, young people aged 12 and above had a technical adventure at the Miele company's training workshop, learning new skills in electronics and metal. They also had the unique opportunity to visit Paderborn Airport, where they could observe take-offs and landings, an experience that left a lasting impression on many.
The holiday games have been offering unforgettable experiences for multiple generations, and this year was no exception. The Miele Foundation, which has been supporting these events in the city of Gütersloh for over 50 years, is proud to have played a part in these memories.
The autumn holiday games will be returning soon, with the programme going online on Monday, September 15th, accessible at www.ourwebsite.ferienspiele. Registrations will open on the same day, and will be possible until Thursday, September 25th. After that, a draw for places will take place.
For those interested in registering or seeking more information, they can contact the municipal department of youth and family at Nadine Becker-Kleinemas. Her contact details are telephone: 05241 / 82-3333, or by email at frnsplgtrslhd.
We look forward to another fantastic series of events this autumn, and encourage everyone to take part in the Gütersloh Holiday Games. Whether you're a budding artist, a curious explorer, or a future engineer, there's something for everyone!
