Heading to Düsseldorf

In the heart of Germany, the city of Düsseldorf is gearing up for an exciting summer holiday season. The Düsseldorf Youth Office, in collaboration with free carriers and local youth associations, has organised a summer holiday program that promises fun, learning, and a touch of normality.

Young participants can look forward to a variety of activities, with the Evangelical Youth offering parcouring challenges and knightly games as part of the common program. The adventure playgrounds will also offer special activities, providing opportunities for hammering, sawing, digging, building booths, dealing with animals, and nature experiences.

The program consists of one, two, or three-week offers in small and fixed groups, with a daily core time of 9 to 16 o'clock. Approximately 3,500 places are available for the summer holiday program.

Registrations for the holiday program will start on June 12, 10 a.m., with the respective carriers of the measure. However, the "Düsseldorferchen" organized by Akki requires online booking instead of in-person registration.

The summer holiday offers were previously prohibited due to relevant ordinances, but a coronavirus-compliant implementation is now possible. Participants will be tested or required to present a corresponding certificate due to the current situation.

The sports action bus of the city sports association will provide sporty highlights, including archery, football camp, volleyball, and other sports. The participation costs are 35 euros per week and child, but are reduced to 17 euros per week and child for Düsseldorf pass holders.

City Director, Burkhard Hintzsche, has expressed gratitude to the free carriers and youth associations for putting together a varied and corona-compliant offer. It is hoped that the summer holiday program will bring a piece of normality, play, and fun back into the daily life of the target group.

For more detailed information about the program structure, safety measures, and participation requirements, it is recommended to contact the official Düsseldorf Youth Office (Jugendamt Düsseldorf) or check their archived announcements from 2021 directly on the City of Düsseldorf website or local government portals.

The website for online booking for the "Düsseldorferchen" is www.duesselfeien.info/.

With these measures in place, the Düsseldorf summer holiday program is set to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all young participants.

The participants can enjoy a "lifestyle" filled with activities and learning during the summer holiday program, which includes parcouring challenges, knightly games, and nature experiences at the adventure playgrounds. Furthermore, the "home-and-garden" aspect is present as the adventure playgrounds offer opportunities for hammering, sawing, digging, and building booths.
