Historic Zille Ferry Now Connects Marienthal and Regenstauf

The Zille in Marienthal, a beloved regional leisure attraction, is now available in Regenstauf, a charming market town in the Regensburg district of Bavaria. This historic ferry service, operating from May to the end of September, significantly enhances the quality of life in the region.

The Zille Marienthal plays a pivotal role in the area's leisure activities, connecting various hiking trails and serving as a popular tourist attraction. The Association for Leisure Activities in the Regensburg Area e.V. has generously contributed 4,000 euros towards the operation of the Zille in Marienthal. This support aims to provide residents and visitors with an attractive offer for relaxation and leisure.

The Zille's presence ensures the continued existence and further development of the popular crossing on the Regen. District Administrator Tanja Schweiger has shown support for the Zille operation, investing in sustainable leisure culture. Mayor Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer also emphasizes the importance of the Zille for relaxation in the region. The Zille has been an impressive experience for locals and tourists alike for the past 125 years.

The Zille in Marienthal, with its rich history and cultural significance, continues to serve as a vital leisure attraction in the Regensburg area.
