Cafe Murano Marylebone, the latest culinary venture by celebrated chef Angela Hartnett, has opened its doors in the heart of London. Located at 52-55 Dorset St, W1U 7NQ, this new addition to the city's dining scene promises a warm and inviting atmosphere, serving breakfast through to dinner.

A Warm and Inviting Dining Space

Stepping into Cafe Murano Marylebone, diners are greeted by an intimate, homely, and distinctly welcoming atmosphere. The dining area is light and airy, thanks to its south-facing position, and is decorated with warm lighting, paintings, and personal touches including portraits of Hartnett’s dogs, framed cookbooks, and cooking tools. High-end finishes like Murano glass lighting and green leather banquettes add refined style without feeling gimmicky.

A Menu Celebrating Italian Regional Culinary Diversity

The menu at Cafe Murano Marylebone showcases Italy's regional culinary diversity, with dishes that are crisp, fresh, and full of flavour. Cicchetti and antipasti options include braised octopus with potatoes and aioli, and courgette panzanella. The 'primi' menu focuses on seasonal produce, with dishes like camaroli risotto with basil and tomatoes, and tortelli with Swiss chard, ricotta, and walnut sauce.

Second courses include slow-braised lamb with sweet Romano peppers and mozzarella, and an Italian staple, chicken Milanese. Two dishes exclusive to the Marylebone location are the half chicken Salmoriglio, served with a zesty sauce of lemon, garlic, and fresh herbs, and the rigatoni al ragù bianco, a white Bolognese-style pasta. For dessert, try the lemon polenta cake, a sweet and tangy end to your meal.

A Familiar and Friendly Atmosphere

Angela Hartnett expresses her excitement about the opening of Cafe Murano Marylebone in the area of Marylebone. "I am thrilled to bring Cafe Murano to this vibrant and welcoming neighbourhood," she says. "I wanted to create a space that feels like a friendly, familiar dining room, where locals and newcomers alike can enjoy my approachable yet refined Italian cuisine."

Cafe Murano Marylebone is a more casual sibling to Hartnett's Michelin-starred Mayfair restaurant, Murano. This new venture offers a more relaxed and approachable dining experience, while still maintaining the high standards of quality and flavour that Hartnett is known for.

A New Chapter in Angela Hartnett's Culinary Journey

Hartnett's culinary journey was inspired by the food of her Italian grandmother and mother. "Growing up, I was always surrounded by delicious, home-cooked Italian food," she says. "I wanted to bring that same warmth and hospitality to Cafe Murano Marylebone."

The original Cafe Murano launched on St James Street in 2013, and this latest addition marks the fourth London location for Hartnett. Cafe Murano Marylebone opens on July 26th, and reservations are now being taken.
