Intergenerational Artistic Collaboration at Senior Center Mittelmosel

Zell, 23rd May 2025 — A joint endeavor uniting residents of all ages, local youth, chaperones, and the Senior Center Mittelmosel team recently embarked on an artistic journey. Over two days, they collaboratively decorated a traffic box and benches, aiming to foster connections and mutual understanding through creative exchange.

The project commenced on the 16th of May with an introductory round gathering initial ideas and sketches. The following day, participants refined their skills in using spray cans on a separate canvas before applying their artistic touch to the traffic box and sanding the benches. The enthusiastic participation and vibrant designs were under the guidance of professionals from Jugendkunstschule Cochem-Zell: Anja Schindler, assisted by Carlotta Träger (theater pedagogue), Martin Scholz ("Onkel Dose", graffiti artist), and Vladimir Blanco ("Chele", visual artist and circus artist).

The Jugendkunstschule was commissioned for the creative implementation of this intergenerational art project, which was supported financially by the Globus Foundation, represented locally by Manuela Markert, Westnetz GmbH, represented by Philipp Engel, and by a contribution from Senior Center Mittelmosel. Markert and Engel actively contributed to the project, expressing their impression of the successful intergenerational collaboration.

Senior Center Mittelmosel extends its gratitude to all participants and supporters for their commitment and active involvement, making this community-building art project a resounding success.

This art initiative reflects the mission of the parent company, the Dernbacher Katharina Kasper Group, which involves more than 6,500 individuals across three federal states, providing various services in healthcare, senior care, education, and household services.
