Join the Mammoth Hike Challenge: Explore Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail This October
The Ice Age Trail Alliance is gearing up for its annual Mammoth Hike Challenge this October. As of October 1, over 6,000 hikers have registered for the free event, which encourages participants to explore Wisconsin's Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
The Mammoth Hike Challenge can be tackled solo, with a partner, or as part of a group. Hikers can choose to walk, backpack, or hike the trail, aiming to cover 45 miles and visit three Ice Age Trail communities during the month. The trail itself stretches for around 1,200 miles, passing through or near 26 official trail communities. Participants who complete the challenge will be rewarded with a limited-edition patch and a certificate of achievement.
The Mammoth Hike Challenge is an excellent opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to explore Wisconsin's rich history and scenic beauty. With free registration and a supportive community, the event is open to all levels of hikers. Those who complete the challenge can proudly display their patch and certificate as a testament to their accomplishment.
