Library's Snapshots: "The Other Focus" - An Exploration Through Photography
==========================================================================================
The "A Different Perspective" photo exhibition is currently on display at the Solingen City Library, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the city through the lenses of three talented photographers.
The photographers, Andrea Steinmueller, Daniel Hahn, and Florian Reinholz, embarked on a discovery tour through the various districts of Solingen, capturing the city's diverse landscapes in 27 images, each in a 30 x 40 cm format. The exhibition, which began as a tradition in 2019, promises not only visual pleasure but also a new appreciation for the city's hidden gems.
Heike Pflugner, the library director, inaugurated the exhibition. The photographs showcase a range of subjects, from the mundane to the extraordinary, offering interesting insights into Solingen that one might not typically associate with the city.
Andrea Steinmueller discovered small stone figures made of pebbles in the courtyard of the main branch of the city savings bank, while Daniel Hahn captured a charming bakery at Burg Castle and a breathtaking sunset over the same landmark. Hahn also learned to take the necessary time to wait for the right moment during the photo expedition, as evidenced by his photograph of Gertrude, a duck, which adds a delightful touch to the exhibition.
The photographers experimented with lighting settings and repeated shots to capture the perfect image. They hope for many visitors and look forward to presenting their work to a wide audience.
The "A Different Perspective" exhibition can be visited until the end of January during the library's opening hours on the first floor. A visit to this exhibition promises to be a rewarding experience, offering a fresh perspective on the city of Solingen.
This exhibition, presenting the city of Solingen through unique perspectives, not only delivers visual delight but also a new appreciation for its hidden gems, touching upon various aspects of the local home-and-garden lifestyle.
