Lippstadt's Light Promenade Returns with Illuminated City Tour on October 9
Lippstadt, a city renowned for its unique relationship with light, invites residents and visitors to explore its illuminated streets. The Light Promenade, a key part of the regional 'Hellweg - a Light Path' project, returns this year with a city tour on October 9, 2025.
The tour begins at the town hall at 7:30 PM and lasts approximately 90 minutes. While the participating artists remain unlisted, visitors can expect to see over a dozen light art objects, reflecting the city's dynamism and vitality.
The fee for the tour is 8.00 euros for adults and 4.00 euros for children, teenagers, and students. The route stretches north of the city center, along the Lippe from the Green Corner to Friedrichstraße. Lippstadt's largest economic enterprise, significant for producing car headlights, also plays a role in the city's love for light.
Since 2013, Lippstadt has embraced an artistic approach to light with the Light Promenade. Visitors can experience contemporary light art objects, especially effective after dusk, reflecting the city's vision statement 'Light, Water, Life'. The city tour offers a unique opportunity to appreciate this artistic expression.
