Mondi Launches Fully Recyclable RetortPouch for Food & Pet Products
Mondi has launched RetortPouch Recyclable, a sustainable packaging solution for food and wet pet food products. The fully recyclable mono-material pouch reduces waste and protects products, marking a significant step towards Mondi's 2025 sustainability goal.
Mondi Korneuburg's Managing Director, Eveline Wagner-Hahn, highlighted the company's commitment to sustainability and customer-centric approach. The new packaging replaces complex, unrecyclable materials, demonstrating Mondi's award-winning expertise in sustainable food packaging.
RetortPouch Recyclable underwent over two years of research and testing to ensure it meets various application needs. It uses an innovative, high-barrier film instead of aluminum, reducing the product's environmental footprint during manufacturing and transportation.
The official market launch of RetortPouch Recyclable in 2023 brings Mondi closer to its goal of ensuring all products are reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025. The sustainable packaging solution not only protects products but also aligns with customers' sustainability goals, contributing to a circular economy.
