Today, Lehel marks the dawn of an exciting era! A unique traffic light featuring every kid's beloved hero, Pumuckl, has been unveiled at the intersection of Liebigstraße/Triftstraße/Wagmüllerstraße.
Pumuckl: Your Guiding Light in Lehel!
The original Pumuckl-themed traffic light has ignited the heart of Lehel, offering a refreshing, playful spin on our urban infrastructure. This location holds special significance, as the carpenter master Eders' television workshop is nestled within reach.
It's not just one, but three Pumuckl-themed traffic lights scheduled to light up the streets of Lehel. The other two will be installed at the intersection of Robert-Koch-Straße and Sternstraße, and the intersection of Sternstraße and Widenmayerstraße.
Vibrant, Kid-Friendly Vibes in Lehel
"I was tickled by the idea right from the get-go," expressed Mayor Dieter Reiter. Mobility referent, Georg Dunkel, couldn't agree more, "Pumuckl embodies Munich, particularly Lehel, unlike any other children's figure. Although, a heartfelt thank you to the family of Ellis Kraut and Barbara Johnson, without whose blessings and support, this special traffic light wouldn't have graced our streets."
