Museum's First Café Opens Post-Reopening in April at The Frick Collection

Heading to the swanky side of Manhattan? The Frick, nestled on the Upper East Side, is an art institution like no other. Post your gallery-hopping escapades at its revamped cafe - the Westmoreland!

A welcomed addition since the museum's grand reopening in April, following four long years of renovations, the Westmoreland Cafe has been serving visitors a taste of luxury. Redesigned spaces include breathtaking reading rooms, the glitzy 220-seat Stephen A. Schwarzman auditorium, and a staggering collection of over 1,800 artworks. A tummy rumble's now unavoidable amidst this artistic spectacle!

The 50-seat restaurant that's as lavish as you'd imagine is the creation of Selldorf Architects and has been reimagined by none other than the Bryan O’Sullivan Studio (BOSS). Laurencing a custom mural by Darren Waterston, the decadent new eatery truly surpasses expectations, just like its namesake - the private Pullman car the Frick family jumped on in 1911.

Fancy a gastronomical tête-à-tête discussing the dazzling collection? Axel Rüger, director of Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen, can't agree more. His words - "As we continue to celebrate the grand reopening of the Frick, we are thrilled to inaugurate the museum's first cafe. This new space brings our institution into the 21st century and will offer our visitors and members a moment of respite where they can discuss the collection over refined food and drinks."

A Feast Fit for a Frack

Danny Meyer's Union Square Events is responsible for the scrumptious eats at Westmoreland. The catering menu highlights seasonal goods sourced from nearby farms and suppliers, ensuring flavors that burst with local flair. Tantalize your taste buds with soups, salads, pastas, and, don't forget - those delightful pastries!

According to Nickolas Martinez, Vice President of Culinary Operations at USE, "Westmoreland offers attentive table service to create an intimate and refined experience." The sustenance menu is a single, intricately designed dish, perfect when you need a moment's sit-down pause from perusing Peter Paul Rubens' masterpieces.

The second-story darling isn't the only upgraded perk for visitors. In a few weeks, the Ronald S. Lauder galleries, showcasing special exhibitions in line with the attraction's permanent collections, will open on June 18, offering even more thought-provoking topics to hash out during your café break.

Don't miss out; make a reservation on the cafe's very own website or swing by during your visit to snag a table!
