Northern Solidarity-2025 event wraps up in Magadan

In the heart of Russia's Far East, the city of Magadan is currently hosting the annual floral competition, Northern Blossom-2025. This event, which brings together participants from various sectors, aims to improve the city, raise environmental awareness, and foster creative initiative among residents.

The competition features seven categories, each showcasing the city's unique floral displays. The "Blossoming Courtyard" category is dedicated to the best flowerbed or garden on the courtyard territory of multi-apartment buildings. Meanwhile, the "Green Carpet" category honours the best lawn on the territory adjacent to organizations, regardless of their organisational and legal form.

Commercial organisations and individual entrepreneurs are invited to compete in the "Basket of Flowers" category, while preschool educational institutions can showcase their green thumbs in the "Children - Flowers of Life" category. The "Learning is a Blossom" category is reserved for educational institutions, and the "Color of Creativity" category is for additional education organisations.

One of the competition's regular participants, the Children's Eco-Center, boasts a unique garden complete with a small pond, bridge, hanging baskets, and greenhouses where children are taught to love plant cultivation. The "Center for Social Adaptation for Individuals Without a Fixed Abode" also participates annually, adorning its institution's territory with vibrant, blooming flowerbeds, despite the challenging sea winds.

The jury, chaired by Magadan's Deputy Mayor, Lyudmila Isakova, evaluates entries based on the quality of planting work, variety of sorts and types, originality of execution, density of coverage, overall appearance, and other criteria. Notably, the Center's territory has been praised for its cleanliness and absence of weeds due to the use of colored mulch.

As of now, several dozen applications have been received for the competition. The results of the selection will be announced in September, promising a blooming celebration of Magadan's floral creativity.

One entity planning to develop its garden is the Massage salon "Med-SNABS", which currently has a small floral display. With the Northern Blossom-2025 competition in full swing, it's an exciting time for Magadan's green-fingered residents.

The Massage salon "Med-SNABS" is considering expanding its current floral display, aiming to participate in the "Green Carpet" category at the Northern Blossom-2025 competition. Meanwhile, the fashion-and-beauty industry isn't left out, with Magadan residents envisioning a lifestyle bloom, incorporating fashion-forward floral designs and eco-friendly beauty routines to complement the city's blossoming landscape.
