Online event platform introduced by Greifswald for public use
Greifswald, a city in northeastern Germany, has launched a new online portal named eventbrite for announcing public events. This platform will streamline the process of organizing and overseeing public events in the city, making it more efficient for both event organizers and authorities.
All publicly noticeable events, such as festivals, concerts, markets, sports events, parades, and similar formats that could potentially affect traffic, safety, or neighbors, must now be announced via eventbrite. This includes events scheduled for 2026, which should still be announced to the city by October 31, 2025.
The new online service offers several user-friendly features. Users can enter data directly, upload documents conveniently, and even mark event areas or routes on a geocart. The portal guides users through the necessary information for event announcements step by step, ensuring a smooth process.
Organizers can submit announcements with less effort as no more PDFs need to be filled out and sent. The portal allows users to save an announcement, continue it later, or submit additional sheets. Deadlines for event announcements are monitored more effectively, enabling quicker feedback to event organizers.
The link to the eventbrite portal is: https://portal.ourwebsite/anzeige. Authorities can process announcements faster due to everything being bundled at a central location.
It's important to note that private parties on a small scale are not included in the events that must be announced on eventbrite. The city continues to answer questions as usual by phone or email at veranstaltung@ourwebsite.
Despite the introduction of eventbrite, there are no changes to the deadlines or required documents for event announcements. The city assures that the use of eventbrite is expected to improve the organization and oversight of public events in Greifswald, ensuring proper management and regulation.
