The Halle Zoo is set to host an exciting event from July 14th to July 27th, 2025, as part of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria's (EAZA) "Vietnamazing" campaign. This long-term initiative aims to protect the unique species and ecosystems of Vietnam, focusing on the threatened and vibrant biodiversity of the region.

During this two-week event, the Halle Zoo will offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn about three fascinating species: Sumatran tigers, silver gibbons, and stick insects. Three action stations will be set up, each providing engaging facts and insights about these captivating creatures.

In addition to the educational stations, a creative station will be available for visitors to design their own glitter fish and wooden stick figures. This hands-on activity is designed to make learning about species protection fun and engaging for all ages.

The Halle Zoo is actively participating in the "Vietnamazing" campaign, joining forces with EAZA to support the conservation of endangered wildlife native to Vietnam. The zoo is involved in breeding programs within European zoos, preparing offspring for eventual repatriation to Vietnam, contributing to the broader goal of species preservation in their natural habitats.

The "Vietnamazing" campaign is a collaborative effort, involving multiple institutions and partners. It encompasses a comprehensive approach, including planning, research, education, and fundraising. This initiative exemplifies international cooperation for biodiversity conservation, with the Halle Zoo playing an integral role within Europe’s zoo community under EAZA's framework.

The event takes place daily from 11 am to 4 pm at the Halle Zoo. Visitors are encouraged to come and learn, engage, and contribute to the conservation efforts for the unique wildlife of Vietnam.
