Restoration work is underway on the 1910s Baranic house facade, located in Krasnodar.
In a significant move towards preserving the country's rich architectural heritage, Avito Services and the Tom Sawyer Fest Foundation have joined forces to restore historic buildings in 11 Russian cities. The project, aptly named "Tom Sawyer Fest - Heritage", aims to breathe new life into significant historical structures, including an 18th-century manor house in Klyuksy, a school from 1905 in Ipatovo, and various wooden houses from different historical periods. These buildings are integral parts of local tourist routes.
The restoration process will involve a unique blend of professional expertise and community involvement. Professionals and volunteers will work together to restore foundations, roofs, windows, and crown structures. They will also install drainage systems, reassemble and install historical decorative elements, and meticulously clean and restore carpentry elements to determine their original colour.
One of the first buildings to be restored under this project is the Baranik house in Krasnodar, built in the 1910s. Avito Services is proud to invest in preserving architectural heritage in Krasnodar, as reported by Yuga.ru. The unique wrought-iron canopy, a traditional Kuban overhang, was saved by volunteers in 2024 before the demolition of a dilapidated residential building. Volunteers have repaired loose fastenings, replaced damaged wood sections, recreated lost decoration, and found and installed corner locks over 100 years old.
Anastasia Knoer, director of the charitable foundation "Tom Sawyer Fest", expressed her happiness about participating in the restoration of Russia's historical heritage. Svetlana Filimonova, the head of the 'Large Repairs and Construction' business unit on Avito Services, expressed her support for the 'Tom Sawyer Fest' project and its contribution to city improvement.
This collaboration marks a progressive step towards the revitalization of urban environments by combining skilled labor, community involvement, and investment to safeguard historical architecture for future generations. Interested individuals can offer their help as an activist or master on the project page. The project will involve professional craftsmen and volunteers in the renovation of significant architectural objects, ensuring that these cultural assets are preserved for generations to come.
The "Tom Sawyer Fest - Heritage" project is not limited to restoring historic buildings; it also aims to enhance the home-and-garden aesthetics of these structures. For instance, the Baranik house in Krasnodar, with its unique wrought-iron canopy, will be adorned with well-tended gardens, reflecting a harmonious lifestyle blend of historical preservation and contemporary charm.
To further enrich the lifestyle experience, interested individuals are welcome to participate in the project, offering their skills as craftsmen or contributing as volunteers, ensuring the project's success as a comprehensive home-and-garden makeover, preserving and elevating Russia's architectural heritage.
