New Sustainable Fire Station in Mühlheim to Open by Summer 2025

Mühlheim is set to welcome a new addition to its community with the construction of a modern fire station on Anton-Dey-Straße. The single-story building, scheduled for completion by summer 2025, is being built using modular wooden frame construction, making it an eco-friendly choice for the town.

The fire station will boast a green roof, equipped with a photovoltaic system, contributing to its energy supply. This sustainable design is part of a long-term investment in the future of Mühlheim, as stated by Mayor Dr. Alexander Krey, who views the new fire station as an important step towards strengthening the rescue service supply for the town's citizens.

The fire station will accommodate three emergency vehicles: a 24/7 rescue vehicle, an additional rescue vehicle, and an emergency ambulance during the day. The vehicle hall provides sufficient space for these vehicles, ensuring they are ready for immediate deployment.

The outdoor areas of the fire station will be adorned with trees and shrubs, irrigated using rainwater from a cistern. Sealed surfaces are limited to the access roads of the fire station, reducing its overall environmental impact.

In addition to its functional spaces, the fire station will also feature administrative, social, and recreational rooms, aiming to create optimal working conditions for the rescue service personnel.

A unique feature of the new fire station will be the biotope on the eastern edge of the property. Made of dead wood and rubble stones, this habitat will provide a home for lizards and other small animals, promoting biodiversity in the area.

The total cost of the project is approximately 2.1 million euros. The use of an outdoor air heat pump for heating the building further reduces its environmental impact, making it a cost-effective and sustainable solution.

As of August 2022, detailed public reports or sources specifically about the new fire station in Mühlheim, including its construction details, cost, or sustainability features, were not easily found. For precise information, it is recommended to consult official Mühlheim municipal resources, local government press releases, or the fire department’s own communications.

District administrator Oliver Quilling stated that the Mühlheim fire station team currently handles around 2,600 deployments per year. With the new fire station, the town is taking a proactive approach to ensuring its citizens receive the best possible emergency services.

The new fire station in Mühlheim is designed to promote sustainability and ecological aspects, making it a shining example of modern civic building design.

What is the lifestyle and home-and-garden aspect of the new fire station in Mühlheim, set to open by summer 2025? It's not just a building for emergency vehicles; it also features administrative, social, and recreational rooms, promoting a sustainable living environment for the rescue service personnel.
