Royal Family to Move to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park

Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children are planning to move to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park by the end of 2025, marking a fresh start and new chapter for the family after experiencing several challenging times. The move to Forest Lodge, considered their "forever home," will allow them to leave behind some unhappy memories associated with their current residence, Adelaide Cottage, and seek a more suitable long-term royal family home in Windsor.

The family will be moving from Adelaide Cottage, where they first settled in 2022, to the historic Forest Lodge property, built in the 1770s. The eight-bedroom residence offers extensive grounds and privacy for the family, and its location in the same general Windsor area is convenient as it is near their children’s prep school.

The move and renovations are being funded by Prince William and Princess Kate themselves, without any taxpayer money. The renovations are currently underway at the Forest Lodge property, with Kate being spotted picking new furniture for the property.

The move has caused some disruption as two local families living in cottages near Forest Lodge were asked to vacate their homes to increase privacy and security for the royal family.

The family is looking forward to starting a new chapter in their lives and making Forest Lodge their permanent home. The move to Windsor was initially to allow the family to be closer to the late Queen and to give the children a more ordinary way of life with more privacy.

Meanwhile, Catherine has released the second of her quarterly films highlighting the beauty of 'Mother Nature.' The film, titled 'Summer,' was filmed in the UK over the last few months and includes locations such as Sheffield, Bradford, North Wales, Anglesey, and the south coast of England. The film was released on Kensington Palace social media channels, with a written message by the royal reading: "Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here's to Summer. C."

Adelaide Cottage provided a private and tranquil setting for Kate's recovery from cancer last year. The family's move out of London will allow them to start a new chapter and seek a fresh start after difficult times, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
