Scheduled Expansion of Tramway in Bremen East: Public Input Session on 27th February

Ready, Set, Chime In! 🔈

Hey there, folks! Mark your calendars—Feb 27th is upon us!

It's an exhilarating time for public transportation enthusiasts in Bremen! Our very own Senator for Construction, Mobility, and Urban Development is teaming up with Bremer Straßenbahn AG (BSAG) and a traffic planning office to host a public participation event. The hot topic? Expanding Bremen's beloved tram network in the east! 🚃

Hitch a Ride on the Bremen Transportation Development Wave (VEP 2025)!

Got your attention? This baby was adopted way back in 2014, but it's got plenty of life left in it. You see, VEP is more than just a snazzy acronym. It's a commitment to enhancing Bremen's quality of life, fostering comprehensive urban development, and keeping our beautiful city green. 🌍‍🌲

And guess what's at the heart of this vision? A couple of compelling measures:

  1. Extending the tram line that currently hangs up in Sebaldsbrück all the way to Osterholz.
  2. Connecting the tram lines between Weserwehr and Malerstraße like intertwining threads of silver and steel.

Together, we're building a better Bremen!

By extending the tram line, we're making it a snap for the residents of Osterholz and Hemelingen to zip into the city center, all without needing to juggle trams. This ain't just about sweetening the commute for our pals who live in the east. It's also strengthening the public transport backbone and lighting up the walking and cycling infrastructure. 🚶‍♀️

Moreover, we're going to put a shine on the roadspace, particularly along the Osterholzer Heerstraße. Who knows? This might just be the sparkle that residents and other road users need.

Here's where you come in! 🎊

Before we start drafting blueprints, we want to hear from you! We're kicking off a public participation round for all you Bremen natives on Feb 27th. After three brief presentations, the experts from the administration, BSAG, and traffic planning will open the floor for all your questions, suggestions, and wildly brilliant ideas. What's more, the feedback we gather will be woven into the rest of the planning process. 🤝

A taste of what's on tap:
