Schutz Opens $166M Kenosha Plant, Creating 185 Jobs in Wisconsin
Schutz Container Systems, a German industrial packaging solutions provider, has opened a new production facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA. The city's mayor, David Bogdala, welcomed the investment, which totals around $166 million and is set to create 185 jobs near me over the next five years.
The new Kenosha plant, spanning over 34,370 square meters, complements Schutz's existing network, ensuring supply security and flexibility. It also bolsters the company's regional presence and promotes sustainable distribution. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has partnered with Schutz, providing up to $1 million in performance-based state tax credits.
The new facility offers logistical benefits and access to a large pool of skilled labour, thanks to its proximity to the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor. President and CEO of Schutz Container Systems, Frederik Wenzel, expressed the company's commitment to the North American market, stating that the new facility strengthens this commitment. Additionally, Schutz has plans for a new reconditioning facility for used industrial packaging, with an investment of $70 million and creating 56 more jobs.
