In the heart of Kyiv, near Sofia Square, lies Njoy - a sex shop and education space that challenges traditional perceptions. Ukrainian designer Nastia Mirzoyan has breathed new life into this unique establishment with a deliberately minimal, playful, and approachable interior design.

The interior architecture of Njoy avoids traditional shop archetypes, creating a feeling of playfulness and lightness. The space is built as a neutral environment with simple lines, yet colorful, featuring a restrained palette of neutral greys and powder blues with bright red accents. A glossy cherry-red sales counter, designed to evoke a "juicy and intense" emotional response, stands out amidst the soothing tones.

Circular, ring-shaped shelving units create a central arena for product display and social events. The walls are left bare to avoid visual clutter, while soft seating by Ukrainian artist Serhii Drofa adds tactile warmth and comfort. Bespoke lighting emphasizes the interior’s inviting atmosphere, contributing to the interiors' warmth.

The educational dimension is integrated via an in-house curated book collection and an atmosphere aimed at making intimacy accessible and exploration natural, encouraging reflection and conversation beyond typical retail experiences. The "playfulness" of the space highlights the unexpected aspect of selling toys, providing a gentle entry point for visitors exploring sexuality.

Design elements such as soft seating and bespoke lighting are added to contribute to the interiors' warmth, making the space inviting and accessible. The interior design favors a pared-back, sophisticated language, with bare walls and a restrained palette. The shop's interior design aims to create a comfortable and accessible space for intimate education and toy sales.

Njoy's offering includes an eclectic selection of items, all presented in a setting that is both welcoming and thought-provoking. The location, near Sofia Square, behind an unassuming facade, adds to the allure of this unique establishment.

In a world where conversations about sexuality, relationships, and self-discovery are often shrouded in secrecy, Njoy stands as a beacon of openness and acceptance. Mirzoyan's design for Njoy is a testament to the power of thoughtful design in creating spaces that foster open conversations and promote exploration.
