Sold: Helios 3 Spacecraft Up for Bid
The sale of the 54m (177ft) Delta Marine yacht, Helios 3, has been finalised, marking a new chapter in its luxurious journey. The exact identity of the new owner remains undisclosed, but the introduction was made by Burgess, a leading yacht brokerage firm.
The sale was facilitated by Christian Bakewell from Burgess Aspen office, working alongside Stuart Larsen of Fraser, who represented the seller. The announcement was made public in August 2025.
Helios 3 underwent an extensive 18-month refit, completed in 2022, transforming the yacht into a symbol of comfort, versatility, and long-range capability. The refit involved a complete overhaul, from the bilge to the mast, with every inch of the yacht renewed, replaced, rebuilt, or refitted.
The hull was extended by 4 meters, and the bridge deck by 2 to 2.5 meters, increasing overall volume and space. The exterior lines, originally by Delta Design Group, were refined for a sleeker and more elegant profile. The yacht's tender garage was extended to include a beach club area with additional storage and crew spaces.
Built for long-range cruising, Helios 3 boasts a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles at 11 knots, supported by a heavy-duty fiberglass hull with 17 layers of resin-infused glass matt and carbon stringers up to 3 inches thick for added strength.
Accommodation spans a spacious 7,500 sq ft (over 697 sqm) of living area across seven staterooms, accommodating up to 16 guests. The upper deck houses a private owner's apartment with a study, master stateroom, two dressing areas, a large bathroom, and a private aft deck with a bar and lounge space. The main deck is dedicated to family entertainment, including a media room for games and movies, and a gym.
The yacht is classed by Lloyd's Register and flagged by the Marshall Islands, used privately with significant cruising experience covering over 129,000 nautical miles since 2017 in various oceans.
The refit cost was substantial—estimated well over $25 million by the broker—with the boat now offering enhanced luxury, space, and long-range capability.
We wish the new owner many happy years on board, and extend our gratitude to everyone involved in the sale of Helios 3. May its new journey be as remarkable as its transformation.
After finalizing the sale of the transformed Helios 3, its new owner is set to embrace a lifestyle of luxury cruising, complete with a home-and-garden space in the form of an extended beach club area. The extensive refit, costing over $25 million, has converted the yacht into a symbol of comfort, versatility, and long-range capability, perfect for the newly adopted home-and-garden lifestyle.
