This trend of these names ruling supreme goes back to 2023, where they also led the line across the country.
In Baden-Württemberg, Matteo and Luca/Luka follow closely behind for the boys, and Emma and Lina stand as runners-up for the girls. On a broader scale, Marie and Maria, together with Matteo and Paul, dominate the rankings. So much for the race!

This means that almost 92 percent of all first names given in Germany in 2024 are thoroughly accounted for by the GfdS, which they reported themselves.
