Spotted in Vác district: Escape of a black buck from the Klyzminsky-Lukhsky reserve in Vladimir region, identified by its red tag.

In the picturesque Vachsky District, an intriguing tale unfolds around Kuzya, an endangered black stork that has captured the hearts of locals and conservationists alike. Kuzya, a runaway from the Klyazminsko-Lukhsky Nature Reserve in Vladimir Oblast, has shown an unusually sociable behaviour, much to the surprise of specialists who typically find black storks to be wary of human presence.

The Dront Eco-center Friends Club, a group involved in the Kuzya case, has expressed concern about the stork's unusual behaviour and potential risks. However, they have also pledged to support efforts to protect Kuzya and promote its conservation. The club has offered to collaborate with local authorities, provide food and medical care for Kuzya, and even set up a safe area for the stork in the Vachsky District.

Recently, employees from the Ministry of Natural Resources attempted to catch Kuzya, but the stork flew away and returned. The club has encouraged residents to report any sightings of Kuzya to local authorities. For now, no further attempts will be made to catch Kuzya, as its future actions will determine if it will leave the area or weaken by the end of autumn, potentially making it easier to catch.

Interestingly, despite its initial reluctance to captivity, Kuzya has been approaching residents and accepting food such as worms and fish. This behaviour has led the Dront Eco-center Friends Club to propose a live broadcast to monitor Kuzya's movements and learn more about its behaviour. The club emphasises the importance of observing and learning from Kuzya, as it could provide valuable insights into the species' habits and preferences.

The Dront Eco-center Friends Club has also pledged to support efforts to protect Kuzya and promote its conservation. They have expressed interest in helping with Kuzya's situation and have emphasised the significance of ensuring the stork's safety. As the saga of Kuzya continues to unfold, the Dront Eco-center Friends Club remains committed to supporting the stork and promoting its conservation.
