Sundays 2025 to be inaugurated in Ohligs, Solingen
The Ohligser Trade and Interest Association (OWG), a union of independent retailers, business owners, and engaged citizens in Solingen, has an exciting lineup of events scheduled for 2025. From neighbourhood festivals to art markets, there's something for everyone.
The year kicks off with the first Sunday shopping day on April 6, 2025. This tradition, a fixed part of Ohligser neighbourhood festivals for many years, will offer a diverse framework program with cultural offerings for the whole family. An interactive art market with the theme "Art connects and networks" will also be held on this day.
On September 7, 2025, Sunday shopping continues, featuring special culinary offers, live bands, street performers, and a large car test action by Solingen car dealerships. Interactive activities by OTV and other local clubs and initiatives like InterJu and ISG will also be present.
The Ohligser Christmas market, a much-anticipated annual event, will take place from December 5-7, 2025. Festively decorated huts and pavilions, a stage with live music and program points, as well as stands from showmen and caterers, will make for a magical holiday atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the year is the Bridge Festival "Ohligs Connects", scheduled for October 26, 2025. Originally launched in 1997 to accompany the steam locomotive spectacle over the Müngstener Bridge, this event brings together generations and cultures in Ohligs with fashion, books, music, and other activities. The 2025 edition promises to be just as vibrant and inclusive.
A book market will be offered from 11 am to 6 pm on April 6, 2025, mainly supplied by regional antiquarians. The interactive art market on Grünstraße and the market square, also on September 7, 2025, will feature many works by local artists.
