Sustainable shopping center inaugurated in Brussels

La Galerie Marchande, a new sustainable shopping center, has opened its doors in the heart of Brussels, specifically at the Gare Maritime of Tour & Taxis. This eco-conscious destination is quickly becoming a popular spot for anyone with an interest in sustainability.

The brainchild of its founder, Céleste Kabanyana, La Galerie Marchande was brought to life through a successful crowdfunding campaign on Ulule. Céleste, who designed the shopping center after turning her life around, imagined a place where sustainability was at the forefront.

Spanning over 700 square meters, La Galerie Marchande is a four-in-one destination, combining a supermarket, clothing shop, drugstore, and coffee corner under one roof. The supermarket offers a variety of in-season, local vegetables and personal hygiene products. The clothing shop features a selection of sustainable brands, with new and well-established labels rotating every three months. The drugstore section offers cosmetics for customers to purchase.

To ensure accessibility for all customers, 'quiet hours' are scheduled at La Galerie Marchande. The shopping center also prides itself on using second-hand materials for all its furnishings.

La Galerie Marchande is not just a shopping destination; it's a community hub. Workshops are held every month, and on Sundays, customers can enjoy a Sunday Brunch. The coffee corner provides a perfect spot for a break or a spot to work with a laptop.

The opening of La Galerie Marchande was reported by the Belgian newspaper Le Soir on November 21. This sustainable shopping center is located in a bustling area of Brussels, making it a convenient shopping destination for locals and visitors alike.

For those interested in sustainable shopping practices in Brussels or help finding specific sustainable shopping venues, more detailed information may be needed. However, La Galerie Marchande is already proving to be an eco-conscious hotspot worth visiting.
