Thirty-three cherry trees scheduled for planting in Victory Square
In the heart of Yakutsk, the city located in the coldest region of Russia, Yakutia, a significant transformation is underway at Victory Square. The city administration, along with the Guibinsky District Administration, is spearheading the landscaping works to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
Ekaterina Pavlov, an advisor to the head of Yakutsk, Yevgeny Grigoryev, has announced the plans for the square. The work will involve planting trees, including 15 blue larch trees and 18 ordinary Siberian larches along Khabarov Street, and sowing a classic parterre lawn following the installation of an automatic irrigation system.
The selection of grass for Victory Square has already been made, and the contracting organization will handle the planting and care of the larches and lawn this year. The automatic irrigation system at Victory Square is expected to be launched soon.
The process of lawn care at Victory Square, including fertilization, mowing, and watering, is complex, according to Ekaterina Pavlov. She has emphasized that only professional organizations should handle the lawn care at Victory Square.
The landscaping works at Victory Square are part of a broader initiative to improve Yakutsk's public green spaces and enhance urban ecological sustainability and community well-being. Given the cold climate of Yakutsk, the focus will likely be on selecting hardy, native or cold-resistant plant species suitable for the local climate, and employing automated irrigation systems adapted to freezing conditions, possibly with insulated or underground piping.
However, for detailed and current project plans for Victory Square, checking local government releases, official city websites, or recent Russian regional news sources would be necessary. As of now, no specific information regarding the Yakutsk City Administration's plans for greening Victory Square or the installation of automatic irrigation systems has been found.
This transformation of Victory Square is set to create a beautiful and sustainable space for the people of Yakutsk to enjoy and honour the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
The landscaping works at Victory Square aim to enhance the home-and-garden aesthetic and create a sustainable lifestyle space for the people of Yakutsk. Ekaterina Pavlov, an advisor to Yakutsk's head, has highlighted the importance of employing professional organizations for the complex lawn care, including gardening tasks such as fertilization, mowing, and watering.
